Assistant Teachers

About the Role
We currently have positions available, and welcome expressions of interest from under-graduate tertiary education students. Our successful applicants would feel excited to apply science of learning-based approaches to the classroom including explicit and direct instruction.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist with in-class teaching duties under the direction of a teacher.
- Facilitate and support small groups as directed by a teacher.
- Keep records of support strategies and curriculum.
- Adjusting student’s Individual Learning Plan.
- Provide administrative support for Teachers when necessary.
- Playground supervision, as well as accompanying students on excursions as required.
About You
- Able to successfully engage young people in relevant and dynamic learning.
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Able to develop sound working relationships at all levels.
- Able to work as a team as well as autonomously.
- Loves to work hard and use initiative.
Mandatory Requirements
- Currently in teacher education training.
- No adverse findings resulting from criminal history checks (i.e. Police Check for working with children under the Vulnerable Childrens Act).
