MSNZ – Arapaki launched in Term 1 of 2025 and has been thriving since opening. The school is dedicated to helping Year 1-8 students who are disengaged or at risk of disengaging from mainstream education.
Partnered with the successful Mastery Schools Australia (MSA), MSNZ – Arapaki is committed to providing exceptional teaching, quality curriculum, and unwavering support to ensure every student reaches their full academic potential.

Our Enrolment Process Overview
- Submit an online Expression of Interest – https://msnz.school.nz/expression-of-interest/
- Attend a Learning Pathways Consultation – a 45-minute conversation with our principal Jo Jessep, where she finds out what is happening for your child and takes you through who we are and what we do. You’ll also see the school in action.
- Step 3: Attend a Learning Discovery Session – a 1-hour assessment. These assessments are not an exam, and there is no pass or fail. Instead, they help us identify your child’s current level of knowledge and skills so we can determine the right Math and English groups they would be placed in for a trial day.
- Mandatory Trial Day – students experience a day of learning at MSNZ – Arapaki.
- Enrolment Decision – together, the school and families make an enrolment decision.

Thank you for the culture and environment you’ve fostered within MSNZ – Arapaki. We used to have meltdowns and panic attacks before school, at drop off, and after school because our daughter was struggling so much, and often needing to be picked up early. That has all turned around in what feels like an instant and I feel like I’ve got my child back and I am so grateful. She had a few uneasy mornings but has settled quickly and told me she feels so safe that she doesn’t need me to hang around or call and check on her. Thank you.

Knowing that our daughter is so happy at her new school and regulated has been so helpful for our family this term.
